Run Rabbit Run | Update no.3

I thought it was about time for a little fitness update, as I've been quite good as of late. Ok, I haven't ran the London Marathon or have abs to challenge Jessica Ennis, but I have been quite good ~for me~. I'll admit, I can be quite a lazy bugger at the best of times, but as I have job that doesn't require a lot of movement, I think its good to add some kind of physical activity into my day. To add to that, I do have the Race for Life in a few weeks time, which is around 3 miles - I plan to run it, well I want to say all of it, but I'll see how I go!

For me, this has been the target - if I were to say I have any kind of fitness target; to be able to run the 5k and not feel like I am on deaths door at the end. So, although I haven't actually gone out on a long run (who has the time?! haha) I have tried to go on the running machine around 3 times a week. Sometimes, doing a long run of around 2ish miles - sometimes a mile fast sprint. My PB so far being 9 minutes 44 seconds for a mile (that time is definitely something for me to work on!)

Hopefully, I'll be able to eventually do the 3 miles, If during the Race for Life I do need to walk for a minute of two I really won't be too harsh on myself, but I just think its nice to have some kind of goal and purpose behind my exercise - running the charity 5k being mine this time!

  1. Running for a good cause is definitely a huge motivation! I have recently started to go running again and I love it, it calms me down and I enjoy starting the day with some physical activity. xx

    1. I do find sometimes I lack motivation to run but often I'll do a quick 10/15 minute run and it suddenly motivates me to run the rest of the week! - Running on a Monday is definitely a good motivator! xx

    1. Hahaha I used to be so sporty in like year 7 in school but I've gone a bit lazy so I try to at least try and run a few times a week so I don't turn into a massive blob! xxx

  3. I'm really going to try and get into running this year, it's something I really struggle with! I am walking 26.2 miles for charity on Sunday (EEK) so after that I'm going to try and start running a bit!

I found your blog through the BDIB chat :)
