BLOG TIME / FULL TIME

~ BLOG TIME / FULL TIME ~

For most blogging isn't a full time career, they don't have every hour in the day to debate what arrangement a certain photo should be for a post, or decided 'ah right, I think I'll write now' For most, ever spare minute is sucked from regular life and compressed into bulk photo taking or writing post upon post just because 'I won't have another chance this week' - this is the reality, well this is my reality of working full time and trying blog all the time - it s a balancing act fit for the circus.

With me I work the standard Dolly Parton-esque, 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin', eh?- and although I'm so extremely lucky to have a solid office job, my Monday to Fridays are spent out of the house. Once I'm home from work at 5.30pm, once food and coffee and a shower and a chill out have been completed.. its time for bed, you see my problem, doesn't leave a lot of room for blogging does it?! This is probably the same old story for everyone though, its all just a matter of spending your time wisely and without sound too cheesy, organisation is key.

I started working mid-October last year, so up to now, 9 months down the line, I feel I have developed a routine that allows me to have three blog posts a week up and still obviously, work. My routine tends to involve planning my blog posts for the following week, during the week before, take the photos for them over the weekend (besides, my outfits of the day for my work would involve an ugly red polo shirt and Matalan trousers #chic) and then either on Sunday evening, or over the course of that week, I squeeze in writing them. Its a routine that hasn't let me down yet, I find the photos for a blog post to be the most important for me therefore these always have to be taken on the weekend, were I have time to make a photo look good - not rushing it after work. The writing can be all done on one evening, but it really can depend on my mood, nothing worse than trying to write a blog post with no words flowing is there, like blood out of a stone!

All in all, this blog post hasn't been very outside the box on how to really tackle the Blog/Full Time balance, but my simply tactic of planning in the week, photographing on the weekend and wiring when you have a spare minute, really does work for me - if you have any more informative tips do let me know...!

    1. I do find it hard sometimes keeping up with everything, it can be a challenge when I'm working 40 hours a week and trying to get posts out! - most people are in the same boat though so I'm the same, organisation is key! x
