Next Berlin Part 2 | Everyday in August (22)

~ Next Berlin ~
Part 2
Here I am, back with Part 2 of my Berlin snaps! As I said in yesterdays post, I didn't want to make my Berlin posts too bulky, so I have split them up.. here is the other 2 days we explored the capital. We visited the Aquarium, The Botanical Gardens, grabbed a bite to eat in a German wine bar were we literally had no idea what we were ordering.. very interesting experience! We finished the holiday with a hungover day by the Berlin Cathedral.. the best way to finish
 a holiday, right?!

Day 3
Our first visit of Day 3 was to the aquarium - somewhere my friend wanted to visit as she is doing a degree in zoology (I happily went along!) We actually planned this say to a T as it was raining so much that morning, so the aquarium was a great escape. I'm not going to lie, it was ~little~ too busy with children but the place itself was fab! It had three floors, with the ground floor being fish and jellyfish. The first floor being reptiles and the top floor being frogs, spiders and other inspects. I actually can't remember the last time I went to an aquarium so was a very enjoyable morning there!

Day 3
Next was the Botanic Gardens, I do love me a garden to browse HA! It was a short train ride away, in a small suburb outside of the city centre. Having avoided the rain of the morning, we were incredibly lucky to have beating sunshine by the time we reached here. The gardens themselves we huge, with a equally big greenhouse that housed more plants and cactus'. All in all, I loved the afternoon here, nothing more relaxing then walking through endless stretches of gardens - plus its incredibly good for photos!

Day 3
Before heading back to the hotel we decided to go for something to eat. Not too far from the train station we needed was this German Wine Bar/ Restaurant we happen to find. It was a really lovely place and as it was quite warm we sat outside and drank some rosé (of course!) As it was German cuisine, the menu was ~obviously~ all in German - literally me and my friend were like 'uuuuuh, does that mean cheese? what's does that word mean??'  We basically ended up ordering 2 of the vegetarian option on menu and hoping whatever it was, was nice! Turns out it was pretty good - we ended up having this thin pastry dish with a topping of 2 types of cheese, spring onion, tomato and pepper. Was different but very nice and a lovely place in itself too.

Day 4
Our finally full day started off with us hungover in bed (lol) after a heavy night the day before. BUT, once we'd slept it off, we visited the Spy Museum which was down the road to our hotel. We had a read of the information and even had a go at the laser field (we failed dramatically!) Following this we visited the cathedral.. all I thought was WOW. It was seriously beyond words, I serious couldn't get over the scale of the architecture. We had a walk around the outside, sat in the garden in front (which included a water foundation!) and had a leisurely stroll back to the trains station. A serious recommend to see whilst in Berlin!
