Three Things from this Week: Pilates, More Books & Name Changes

Having written a handful of these 'Three Things from this Week' posts by this point, I thought it was about time I do another. Having actually had three things worth talking about this week; despite lockdown being a little frustrating for us all, I'm trying my best to stay positive and in turn trying something new, this being in the form of Pilates. With this, I placed a book order which arrived this week, much to my glee - it's been a sad 'ol week in my life having nothing to read! And finally, if you hadn't noticed, I gave my blog name a little update, nothing too drastic but I'm happy I've banished the 'blog' haha!

New Books on The Shelf

Having read my way through all my 'to be read' pile I had, for the first time in a long time, nothing to read, and I have to say I hated it. So, having realised I absolutely hated the feeling of not having a book on my bedside table I made a book order; 3 in total, with the intention of ordering a bulk so I wouldn't have to then place another order in a month or so's time. With the 3 I bought I feel this will definitely last me a few months so, I'm definitely happy knowing I'm all stocked up for now! I picked up 'Such a Fun Age' which I have seen aaaall over Instagram, 'Period' as well as 'I Feel Bad about My Neck' (the latter being because Dolly Alderton has introduced it, who is an absolute queen to me) So, I'm happy knowing I can read away this lockdown period haha!

Pilates

A new discovery which slightly makes me sound like a middle-class wanker is Pilates and I have to say, I absolutely love it! Having tried to find a form of at-home work out that I can easily do in a small space as well as enjoy, has been a little tricky, having absolutely hated Yoga the first time I tried it. Instead I tried Pilates, with it focusing more on proper stretches and muscle strengthening. I've been following 'Lottie Murphy' on YouTube, who has amazingly simply yet effective work outs, some lasting just 15 minutes. Meaning you get a good stretch out but it doesn't take ages to do - it definitely has been something positive to start my mornings!

Blog Eighteen to Eighteen

Now this isn't anything too drastic but I have slightly changed the name of this blog! With it being named the quite awful 'Blog Eighteen' since its birth in 2014 (!), it being a combination of being a blog (who would have guessed?!) and the number 18 being my favourite number, I combined the two and it's been that ever since. Well, I felt it need a little freshening up and with this exact logo being the centre of my whole Final Major Project for uni, to which I want to explain more in it's own blog post once I finally hand it all in. I thought just 'Eighteen' was a good upgrade. Plus, it means I don't have to faff with changing a domain and all my Social Media handles haha!

So there we go, three highlights from week four of lockdown, or is it five, I'm starting to lose track!
